What is ASTTBC and How Does It Apply to House Inspectors?

ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC) is a regulatory body that provides training and certification to several technical disciplines in BC, including house and property inspectors. All ASTTBC Certified House Inspectors (CHIs) are qualified and experienced in carrying out standard house inspections, and in preparing informative reports for clients. The primary goals of ASTTBC for its members include the following:

• to maintain a high standard of knowledge, ability, and competence.
• to regulate standards of training and practice, including setting a code of ethics.
• to protect the interests of the public.
